I have a stats project due tomorrow that hasn’t quite been on the top of my list. All I needed was to make some quick charts in R, but I’m tired and can’t problem solve at the moment. Then, down from the heavens a sign came to me — a sarcastic “Nathan Yau could do this” sent me scheming. I checked Flowing Data, hoping he would have at least one free beginner tutorial, and lo and behold, all that I needed was there! Thank you, Nathan Yau. You’ve saved me. A toast in your honor.
Ink on reproduced military maps of the Western Front (WWI) with additional ink and paper cuts by partner and printmaker Bobbie-Jo. Climate charts of North America allow dashes of colour to emerge through the cuts. The portraits have been framed in such a way to show a depth between each layer

“There are many men who would have done better than I did under the circumstances in which I found myself. If I had never held command; if I had fallen, there were 10,000 behind who would have followed the contest to the end and never surrendered the Union.”
